216 fire victims get relief in city
DHAKA, Oct 31, 2018 (BSS) – The ruling Awami League, in a humanitarian gesture, today provided relief goods to some 216 families who of late experienced through the ordeal of a fire break-out in the city’s Shyamoli Housing area at Adabar here.
Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanok distributed 30 kg rice, a saree, a lungi and a blanket to each family as relief assistance, said press release here.
Dhaka District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Abdus Sattar Khan, AL leader Abdul Mannan, Tarequzzaman Rajib and Adabar Thana Jubo League President Arifur Rahman Khan Tuhin addressed the function, among others.
Speaking briefly on the occasion, Nanok said “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited the political parties for dialogue for the sake of continuation of democratic and constitutional polity and a free, fair and participatory election”, he added.
He sought support from all quarters for the candidate who will be nominated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka-13 constituency.
