8th Bangladesh book fair to be held in Kolkata from Nov 2
DHAKA, Oct 30, 2018 (BSS) – The 8th Bangladesh book fair-2018 will be held
in Kolkata on November 2.
The fair will continue till November 11.
Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith will inaugurate the fair at
Mohorkunja in Kolkata.
Academic and Creative Publishers Association of Bangladesh will organise
the fair in collaboration of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) under the
supervision of Bangladesh deputy high commission in Kolkata.
A total of sixty Bangladeshi publishers’ organizations will participate in
the fair. Nearly 50 publishers will join the fair. A few Bangladeshi writers
and researchers will also join the fair.
Khandoker Monirul Islam, Executive Director (in-charge) of Bangladesh Gyan
and Srijonshil Publisher Association, told this to BSS today.
He said Power Minister of the West Bengal Government Shovon Dev
Chatterjee, Member of Kolkata Municipality Debashish Kumar and former Bangla
Academy Director General Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan will attend as the
guests of honour at the inaugural ceremony of the fair.
Besides, Bangladeshi writer and researcher Professor Dr Ratan Siddiqui and
Publisher and Editor of Kolkata Tridib Chatterjee will attend the fair as
special guests, he added.
Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata Towfique Hasan will preside
over the ceremony.
The fair will remain open for public from 2 pm to 8 pm from Monday to
Friday while from 2 pm to 8:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday till November 11.
