Khaleda embezzles orphans’ money: Hanif
KUSHTIA, Oct 29, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahmub-ul-Alam Hanif today said that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is behind the bars as she embezzled orphans’ money.
“Khaleda embezzled orphans’ money…That is why her lawyers could not prove her innocent and she is still behind the bars,” he told newsmen in reply to the remarks made by BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Earlier Rizvi said, “Begum Zia would have been freed from the Zia Charitable Trust case if there would have been rule of law in the country.”
Hanif said the lawyers of BNP Chairperson would have to fight legally to free her. Instead of involving in legal fight, they are creating pressure on the government to release her, he added.
Such remarks of the BNP leader, Hanif said, proved that BNP leaders have no respect to rule of law.
Later, Hanif joined a discussion on improving the standard of education at Kolokakoli High School here.
Zila Parishad chairman Haji Rabiul Islam, education officer Zayedur Rahman, Kustia town Awami League president Taijol Ali Khan, town AL general secretary Ataur Rahman Ata, Kolokakoli High School Head Master Jeb-Un-Nesa Shabuj were present among others.
