DHAKA, Oct 29, 2018 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her
heartfelt condolences at the death of eleven people in a shooting during a
prayer service at a Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on October 27.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the killing of eleven
people in a shooting during a prayer service at the Synagogue,” she said in a
message of condolences sent to United Sates (US) President Donald J. Trump on
Sunday.

On behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina
strongly condemned this barbaric attack on unarmed civilian people at a place
of worship.

“My government maintains a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against terrorism and
violent extremism of all kinds. Such mindless acts of violence must be dealt
with the strongest possible measures to stop recurrence of the same anywhere
in the world,” she added.

The premier said “The government and the people of Bangladesh stand by you
and the friendly people of the United States at this tragic hour. I reiterate
Bangladesh’s commitment to our shared core values of democracy and secularism
and our resolve to work together against acts of hatred, violence and
terror.”

“I also express our deep condolence to you, the U.S. government, and the
people of the United States, and particularly to the members of the bereaved
families at the tragic loss of these precious human lives,” said Sheikh
Hasina.

She prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
