Young generations urged to follow Dr Wazed’s ideals

RANGPUR, Oct 28, 2018 (BSS) – The young generations should follow the
ideals of renowned nuclear scientist Dr M A Wazed Miah, husband of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina, in becoming greedless patriot with excellent human
qualities.

Leaders of Dr MA Wazed Miah Memorial Foundation, a Dhaka-based
charitable organisation, made the call at its daylong programmes arranged at
Dr Wazed’s birthplace village of Fatehpur Laldighee in Pirganj upazila here
on Saturday.

The programmes included placing wreaths at the grave of Dr Wazed and
offering Fateha, Milad mahfil, free health services, discussion, seminar on
‘Nurturing knowledge to build digital Bangladesh’ and competition on general
knowledge for school students.

Special munajats were offered in the milad mahfil seeking eternal peace
for departed soul of Dr Wazed and wellbeing of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,
Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Saima Wazed Putul and their family members.

Senior Vice-president of Rangpur district Awami League and Chairman of
Dr Wazed Foundation Alhaj AKM Chhayadat Hossain Bakul inaugurated the daylong
programmes.

Founding President of Dr MA Wazed Miah Memorial Foundation AKM Farhadul
Kabir attended the programmes as the chief guest with its incumbent President
and Deputy Attorney General of Bangladesh Supreme Court Advocate Gautam Kumar
Roy in the chair.

Advisor of Dr MA Wazed Miah Memorial Foundation Monwar Hossain, its
leaders Mashiur Rahman, KM Mujibur Rahman, Professor Shah Alam, Rosy Rahman,
Swattik Al Maruf, Professor Nurul Islam, among others, addressed.

General Secretary of Dr MA Wazed Miah Memorial Foundation Dr Mohammad
Zahidul Islam conducted the free medical camp coordinated by Dr AFM Mizanur
Rahman.

Monwar Hossain, also schoolmate of Dr Wazed, narrated memories,
unparallel human qualities of Dr Wazed terming him as a rare talent,
completely honest man and incomparable patriot to serve the nation selflessly
with total dedication.

Professor Shah Alam said Dr Wazed was a person completely free from
greed and he always dreamt for building a technologically developed ‘Sonar
Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The chief guest said Dr Wazed worked for immortalising ideals of
Bangabandhu and paved way for flourishing science education and research work
to build a technologically and economically advanced Bangladesh.

He suggested the young generations to follow ideals of Dr Wazed in
building a middle income nation by 2021 and developed Bangladesh by 2041 as
envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to make independence meaningful
for every citizen.
