DHAKA, Oct 27, 2018 (BSS) – Workers Party of Bangladesh (WPB) president Rashed Khan Menon today said the newly floated Jatiya Oikyafront’s main aim is to make the upcoming national polls questionable.

“They (Oikyafront leaders) know very well that their seven-point demands are unacceptable. In spite of this, they are trying to create confusion among people. We have to make the polls peaceful and undisturbed,” he said.

Menon, also social welfare minister, said these while addressing a meeting to brief party leaders, who are going to contest in the upcoming polls, in capital’s Paltan area this morning.

At the start of the meeting, WPB general secretary Fazle Hossain Badshah briefed everyone about the overall situation marking the election, saying, “Workers party would join polls under the 14-party alliance.”

He urged the party leaders and activists to inform people about the development activities carried out by the government in last ten years.

Party politburo member Anisur Rahman Mollik and parliamentary board member Kamrul Ahsan addressed the meeting, among others.
