Need to ensure quality education stressed

GAIBANDHA, Oct 27, 2018 (BSS) – Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gaibandha Sebastin Rema at a function here today underscored the need for ensuring quality education to the students to make them worthy and responsible citizens of the country.

“In this context, the teachers will have to be more serious and dedicated to performing their duties to attain the cherished goal as they are the architects of building enlightened nation”, he said.

Rema made the comments while addressing a discussion on ensuring quality education on the premises of Newton Preparatory School of the town today as the chief guest.

District Correspondent of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Sarker M. Shahiduzzaman, district correspondent of Bangladesh Television Abedur Rahman Swapon, female councilor of Gaibandha Municipality Lucky Sultana and media and cultural personality Mahfuz Faruk were present at the event as special guests.

With chairperson of the school managing committee (SMC) Advocate Rafiqul Islam Bulu in the chair, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by principal Sukamol Sarker Liton, vice principal Krishna Chandra Sarker and guardian Khodeza Islam Khan.

The speakers in their speeches said the country would not march forward towards desired progress and uplifts unless the standard of education was further improved.

The deputy commissioner asked the students to be studious to complete their academic lesson properly to make good results in all exams and lead the country towards development by using their merits through facing the challenges of the 21st century.

If the guardians take care of their children at homes and the teachers in schools, the country will produce golden sons and daughters every year and in this way, the nation will be enlightened, there is no doubt, the DC added.

The DC also urged the teachers, the guardians, and the members of SMC to pay special attention and take concerted efforts to turn the institutions into knowledge acquiring centers so that more brilliant students were produced from there every year.

Later, the DC formally distributed the education materials to the candidates who are going to appear at Primary Completion and Junior School Certificate exams this year from the school as the chief guest.

The programme was followed by a special munajat by which doa and blessing from the Almighty was sought so that the examinees could do well in the forthcoming exams and make good results.

A large number of students, guardians, teachers, local elite and journalist were present on the occasion.
