Death toll in Panchagarh road crash rose to 10

RANGPUR, Oct 27, 2018 (BSS) – The death toll in Panchagarh road crash rose to ten as two injured bus passengers died in the early hours today on their way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) from Panchagarh, police and hospital officials said.

“The death toll rose to ten as two critically injured passengers succumbed on their way to RMCH from Panchagarh Modernised Sadar Hospital (PSMH),” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchagarh Sadar Thana Abu Akkas Ahmad told BSS this afternoon.

The deceased persons are Lovely Begum, 29, and her son Yasin Ali, 7, of village Jyote Hasna, Rezaul Islam, 22, of village Shitli Hasna under Panchagarh Sadar upazila, Anittya, 20, of village Utkura in Boda upazila, Faridul Islam, 30, of village Uttar Kashempur, Rassel, 20, of village Guabari, Yunus Ali, 28, and Monir Hossain, 6, of village Goriagochh, Mozammel Haque, 38, of village Mominpara and Rahela Begum, 25, of village Dangapara in Tentulia of Panchagarh district.

Earlier, eight persons, including women and children, were killed and 20 others injured in the road accident at Doshmile Bazar point on the Panchagarh-Banglabandha highway under Sadar upazila in Panchagarh district at 7:45 pm on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner of Panchagarh said the district administration distributed Taka 20,000 among relatives of each of the deceased persons and steps were taken for ensuring proper treatment of the injured persons.
