Pet Hospital to be inaugurated in Dhaka Sunday

DHAKA, Oct 25, 2018 (BSS) – The country’s first ‘Teaching and Training
Pet Hospital and Research Centre’ established by Chattogram Veterinary and
Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in Dhaka will begin its journey on Sunday.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will formally inaugurate the
hospital at a function at the newly constructed hospital and research centre
at Purbachal here, a CVASU press release said.

Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosarraf Hossain, University
Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan and Secondary and Higher
Education Division Secretary Md Sohorab Hossain will be present at the
function with CVASU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Goutam Buddha Das in the chair.

The CVASU has established the pet hospital and research centre on a land
of 22 katha at Purbachal to impart training on intern and post-graduate
veterinary doctors.

Apart from existing infrastructure, a multi-storey building will be set up
with modern facilities including medicine, surgery, gynecology and
obstetrics, orthopedics, radiology and imaging and vaccination units.

Intern veterinary students of different universities will be able to get
training on pet animals from the centre.
