Govt to continue providing supports to local industries: Amu

DHAKA, Oct 25, 2018 (BSS) – Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu today said the government would continue to provide all sorts of possible policy support to protect interests of local industries.

“The government is ready to provide any kind of support to the entrepreneurs including duty facilities as per the existing policy in a bid to flourish local industries and produce import-substitute products,” he said.

The Industries Minister was addressing a function marking the inauguration of three-day tri-dimensional expo on ‘2nd Water Bangladesh International Expo 2018′, ’21st Power Bangladesh Expo 2018’ and ’23rd Con-Expo Bangladesh 2018’at Bashundhara International Convention City, said a press release.

CEMS-Global-USA & Asia Pacific is organising the three-day exposition.

Chaired by CEMS-Global-USA & Asia Pacific President Meherun N Islam, Additional Secretary to the Local Government Division Rukhsana Kader, Chief Operating Officer of Partex Star Group Khalid Mahmud, Chief Executive Officer of M Alam & Company Aftab Alam and Executive Director of Max Group Kazi Yeaminur Rashid, among others, spoke at the function.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, the Industries Minister also suggested the entrepreneurs to establish energy-efficient and environment-friendly import-substitute industries in the country.

Amu said the present government over the last 10 years has implemented massive programmes to build industry-supportive infrastructures across the country.

He said special drive of the BSTI has been strengthened against low quality bottled water to ensure safe water at client-level.

“This drive will continue for public interest,” he added.

Meanwhile, some 220 entrepreneur institutions of 19 countries are taking part in the expo where various kinds of pure water, efficient power, safe construction, renewable energy, electronic products and equipments, environment-friendly technology, machineries, and raw materials are put on display.

The expo will remain open every day from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
