MIGRATION-MEETING (with picture)
Holistic approach for safe migration stressed
RAJSHAHI, Dec 19, 2017 (BSS) – Speakers at a discussion here suggested
holistic approach for ensuring safe migration coupled with congenial working
atmosphere for all migrants abroad.
Besides, safe, orderly, regular and responsible migration should be
promoted for benefits of all concerned. Proper and effective measures of
rehabilitation of the trafficked victims alongside their family integration
and reintegration need to be ensured.
District administration and Employment and Manpower office jointly
organised the discussion at Shilpakala Academy auditorium in the city
yesterday to mark the International Migration Day- 2017.
Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Jakir Hossain and
Superintendent of Police Abdus Salam addressed the discussion as the chief
and special guests respectively with Deputy Commissioner Helal Mahmud Sharif
in the chair.
Assistant Director of Employment and Manpower Abdul Hannan, Principal of
Technical Training Center Engineer Mahbubur Rashid Talukder and Principal of
Women Technical Training Centre also spoke.
There is also need of strengthening the mechanism and capacities of
relevant stakeholders to reduce the impact of forced migration, the speakers
said.
