DHAKA, Oct 23, 2018 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today asked authorities
concerned to submit a list of doctors absent in their workplaces in different
upazila health complexes across the country.
The court asked Health Secretary and Director General of Directorate
General of Health Services to submit the list in the form of affidavit within
next six months.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and
Justice Md. Ashraful Kamal passed the order after holding hearing on public
interest litigation.
The court also issued a rule asking authorities to explain in four weeks
as to why it shall not declare “inaction” of the government in ensuring
regular appearances of the doctors.
