Sheikh Hasina Parbotto Chattogram Complex opens in city Oct 28
DHAKA, Oct 23, 2018 (BSS) – The newly constructed ‘Sheikh Hasina Parbotto Chattogram Complex’ at Baily Road in the city will be inaugurated on October 28 (Sunday).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the complex featuring the traditions and heritages of the hill tracts areas, said an official release here today.
The project ‘Sheikh Hasina Parbotto Chattogram Complexes’ was taken under a mid-term budget which was passed in the at ECNEC meeting on February 9, 2016.
In the complex, a multi-purpose hall, a dormitory, a administration building, a museum, a library and residences for Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs (CHT) minister and Parbotto Chattogram Anchalik Parishad chairman have been constructed at a cost of Taka 194 crore.
The complex will play an important role in sharing culture and cooperation and building communal harmony between the people of the hill and plain areas, the release said.
Besides, the complex will showcase the cultural heritages of different ethnic communities, social customs, languages, religions and their behaviors to the plain land people.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Parbotto Chattogram Agreement Committee Convener Md Abul Hasnat Abdullha, Parbotto Chattogram Anchalik Parishad Chairman Joytirindra Bodhipriya Larma and Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on CHT Affairs Ministry RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury will address the inaugural function as special guests.
State Minister for CHT Bir Bahadur U Shwe Sing will chair the function, the release added.
