Sampriti Bangladesh for bringing pro-liberation forces to power again

DHAKA, Oct 23, 2018 (BSS)- Sampriti Bangladesh, a platform of top citizens
which is working to promote secularism across the country, today called upon
people of all strata of life to bring pro-liberation force to power again in
the next general election to keep the communal harmony and secularism intact.

Sampriti Bangladesh convener and cultural personality Pijush Bandyopadhyay
came up with the call while reading out a statement at a press conference
held at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) in the city.

Sampriti Bangladesh Member Secretary Dr Mamun AL Mahtab, Dhaka University
Jagannath Hall Provost Dr Asim Sarker, Dr Nujhat Chowdhury, Shaheed
Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital Director Dr Uttam Barua, Security
Analyst Major General AK Mohammad Ali Shikder, National Press Club President
Shafiqur Rahman and Reverend Martin Adhikari, among others, spoke at the
press conference.

“We have to bring pro-Liberation forces to the power again. We have to
bring Sheikh Hasina, the symbol of pro-liberation forces, in power again to
continue the country’s current development trend,” JPC President Muhammad
Shafiqur Rahman said while speaking at the event.

Rahman also urged people to remain alert so that anti-liberation forces
could not grab state power.

Pijush Bandyopadhyay thanked the government as three biggest religious
festivals- Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja- were celebrated in a
peaceful manner.

“This has proved that the common people possess secular mindset,” he
added.

He also thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for presenting one and a half
bigha land to Dhakeswari National Temple by solving its (land) 60-year
problem.

Bandyopadhyay urged people irrespective of caste, creed and religion to
remain alert to resist any attempt of the evil forces so that they cannot
carry out violent acts like 2001-2006 and 2014.

“We have to reach the message of communal harmony to the people before the
next general election,” he added.
