BR fines 123 commuters for traveling without tickets

RANGPUR, Oct 23, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Railway (BR) has realised fine
Taka 25,550 from 123 passengers of six trains for traveling without tickets
at Kawnia Rail Station in Rangpur district under Lalmonirhat Railway
Division.

A team led by Lalmonirhat Divisional Railway Manager of BR Mostafizar
Rahman realised the fine conducting the special ticket checking drives at
Kawnia rail Station on Monday, BR’s Assistant Traffic Superintendent Sajjat
Hossain today said.

During the drives, BR officials found 123 passengers of three Intercity
Trains — ‘Kartoa Express’, ‘Dolonchanpa Express’ and ‘Lalmoni Express’– and
three commuter trains travelling without tickets and fined them Taka 25,550
on the spots.

“The special ticket checking drives will continue in different trains on
various routes under Lalmonirhat Railway Division in future,” Hossain added.
