Father, son among 3 killed in Chandpur road accident
CHANDPUR, Oct 22, 2018 (BSS) – At least three people, two of a family,
were killed and two others injured as a truck hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw on
the Chandpur-Cumilla road near Bakila Bazar in Hajiganj upazila of the
district early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Elem Hossain, 55, his son Ekram Hossain,
28, and Abu Sufian, residents of Kamta in Shahrasti upazila of the district.
Officer-in-Charge of Hajiganj police station Alamgir Hossain said the
accident occurred in the area at about 4am when the truck hit the auto-
rickshaw from opposite direction, leaving three auto rickshaw passengers dead
on the spot and two others, including the auto-driver, critically injured.
The injured were admitted to Chandpur General Hospital. Later, auto-
rickshaw driver Sahajahan was shifted to Dhaka in critical condition.
