European stock markets steady at open
LONDON, Dec 19, 2017 (BSS/AFP) – Europe’s main stock markets steadied at the
start of trading on Tuesday following strong gains the previous session.
London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index edged up less than a couple of points to
7,538.48 compared with the close on Monday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX 30 index climbed by a similar amount to
13,314.73 points and the Paris CAC 40 dipped 0.2 percent to 5,409.65.
Leading indices in the single-currency area had risen by around 1.5 percent
on Monday as US President Donald Trump’s tax-cutting plans moved a step
closer.
