MOU -CCC- PDB
CCC inks with PDB to generate 25 MW power from its rubbish
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 21, 2018 (BSS)-Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) today
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Power Development Board
(PDB)) to generate 25 Megawatt of power from the kitchen waste, procured from
CCC area.
Chief Executive officer of CCC Mohammad Shamsuddoha and Chief engineer
of PDB Chattogram south zone Prabir Kumar Sen singed the MoU on behalf of
their respective organizations at CCC conference room this afternoon.
Speaking on the occasion, CCC Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said the project to
generate power from wastage of the CCC has been undertaken by the directives
of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“The power to be generated will be sold to PDB and CCC would provide
land to PDB at free of cost,” he said.
As per conditions of the MoU CCC will provide 2,500 tonnes of waste to
the power plant at free of cost with a view to bringing discipline in waste
management as well as protecting environment development and meeting the
growing demand of the power in the city.
Officials of CCC, PDB and department concerned were present on the
occasion.
