Extensive research on Rangpur for development stressed

RANGPUR, Oct 21, 2018 (BSS) – Leaders of Rangapur Gobeshona Parishad
(RGP) have stressed on conducting extensive research on the War of Liberation
and available mineral and archeological resources to further accelerate
development in Rangpur region.

They came up with the observation expressed at the general
meeting (GM) of the central executive committee of RGP held at Rangapur
Sahitya Parisat auditorium on the Public Library premises in the city on
Saturday.

President of the central committee of RGP and former Treasurer of Begum
Rokeya University Professor Mozammel Haque presided over the meeting.

Executive committee members of RGP, its members, Presidents and General
Secretaries of district level committees from eight districts under Rangpur
division, academicians, researchers and socio-cultural and literary
personalities took part.

Joint General Secretary of central committee of the organisation Abdul
Wahab Mian, General Secretary of RGP Advocate MA Basher Tipu presented annual
report.

Senior Vice-president of RGP and Rangpur Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate
Chhafia Khanom, its Vice-presidents Monwar Hossain, Mostafa Toffael Hossain
and Professor Hosne Ara Munshi, Joint General Secretaries Ferdousi Begum
Beauty, Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu and Professor Shah Alam, Treasurer Banamali
Paul, among others, addressed.

In the open discussion session, the participants elaborately dwelt on
organisational issues of RGP that plays important roles in research
activities on different fields of greater Rangpur region for a long time to
enhance developments in the area.

Professor Mozammel Haque stressed on strengthening activities of RGP and
conducting broad research on the War of Liberation, mineral resources and
socio-economic prospects to enhance progress in the region.
