Documentary on PM’s 10 special initiatives screened in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Oct 21, 2018 (BSS) – Documentary films on Prime Minister’s 10
special initiatives and Padma Bridge were screened on Bhangamore High School
ground of Shaghata upazila here yesterday.

Mass communication department of Information Ministry screened the film
under the project entitled ‘Publicity Activity Strengthening in Rural
Community Development’ in the caption of Ageye Jachchhe Bangladesh in
cooperation with district administration and ansar and VDP department.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sebastin Rema inaugurated the film display
function as the chief guest and district commandant of ansar and VDP
Aftekharul Islam was present as the special guest.

With head teacher of the school Shah Alam Sarker in the chair, the
function was also addressed, among others, by district correspondent of BSS
Sarker M. Shahiduzzaman, district correspondent of BTV Abedur Rahman Swapon
and district correspondent of Bangladesh Betar Gobinda Lal Das.

DC Sebastin Rema said Bangladesh is marching towards uplift and has
already become a role model of development in the world under the dynamic
leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Bangladesh has graduated from LDC by implementing huge development
activities during last ten years and the country would be turned into a
middle income one by 2021 and developed one by 2041, the DC added.

The DC urged the viewers to propagate the success of development
activities achieved by the government to the doors of the people. He thanked
the mass communication department for arranging such the programme aimed at
informing the grass root people about the achievement and success of the
government.

Later, the documentary films on PM’s 10 special initiatives- Ektee Bari
Ektee Khamar, Ashrayan Project, Digital Bangladesh, Education assistance
programme, Women empowerment, Electricity to all houses, Community clinics
and mental health, Social safety net programme, Investment situation and
Environment well-protection were screened.

Besides, a film on under construction Padma Bridge and film on awareness
creating about drug, militancy and early marriage were screened.

District information officer Toufiqul Islam said the film display
programmes were held at 156 spots in 78 unions here on Saturday and
Wednesday.
