Journalist Ashock Chowdhury’s father passes away
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 19, 2018 (BSS)- Sudhir Kumar Chowdhury, father of senior journalist and head of news of Boishaki Television Ashock Chowdhury, died of old-age complications at his residence in the city in the early hours of today.
He was 85.
Sudhir Kumar Chowdhury is survived by wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives and admirers.
He will be cremated at his village home at Kochua village under Patiya upazila of the district tonight, family sources said.
Sudhir Kumar Chowdhury had been suffering from old age complications for long.
Meanwhile, Chattogram Press Club president Kolim Sarwar, its general secretary Suklal Das, president of Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) Nazim Uddin Shyamol, its general secretary Hasan Ferdouse, vice-president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Reaz Haider Chowdhury, President of Chattogram TV Journalist Association Ali Abbas, BFUJ joint secretary general Mohsin Kazi, president of Chattogram Photo Journalists Association Didurul Alam, General Secretary Habibur Rob, president of Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association in Chattogram Monzurul Alam Monju, its General Secretary Mustafizur Rahman and president of Sanbadik Co-operative Housing Society Swpan Mollick condoled the death of Sudhir Kumar Chowdhury.
They also prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
