Walton becomes sponsor of Bangladesh home series for 2yrs

DHAKA, Oct 18,2018 (BSS)- Walton, a Bangladeshi multinational brand, has
become sponsor for the home series of Bangladesh national cricket team for
next two years, said a Walton Group press release today .

Walton signed an agreement today with K-Sports, sports marketing company,
at the later office in city’s Gulshan. K-Sports Chief Executive Officer Fahad
M A Karim and Walton’s Deputy Executive Director Uday Hakim signed the
agreement for their respective organisations.

K-Sports Director Ashfaq Ahmad, Operative Director of Walton Firoj Alam,
First Senior Deputy Director Milton Ahmed and Chief Operating Officer of K-
Sports Mahbubur Rashid, among others, were present at the ceremony.

According to the agreement, in ground branding, the logo and product
information of Walton will be displayed at perimeter boards, 3D bowling pitch
matte on both sides of wicket, mid wall board, boundary rope, site screen,
presentation backdrop and roman banner etc.

Speaking about the deal, Fahad M A Karim, CEO of K-Sports, said, “Walton
is an international brand and it’s reputation spread beyond the borders of
the country. They have been with cricket in home and abroad for long time. We
are happy to have Walton with us for a two-year home series contract. We
would like to jointly work for Bangladesh cricket.”

Uday Hakim, Deputy Executive Director of Walton, said Walton is the proud
sponsor in almost all major events of domestic cricket in Bangladesh. Walton
is also a regular sponsor in international cricket. We always want to raise
the victory flag of Bangladesh cricket along with creating a positive brand
image of Bangladeshi products. He thanked Bangladesh Cricket Board and K-
Sports for the long-term sponsorship deal.

Note that K-Sports has purchased in-stadia or grounds rights from
Bangladesh Cricket Board for the next two years. The contract will expire
from September 1 to 31 August of 2020. In this time, Bangladesh has six home
series against Zimbabwe, West Indies, Afghanistan and Australia.

The first series will start with Zimbabwe on Sunday followed by West
Indies who will play next month. Afghanistan will arrive in September next
year. Australia is scheduled to play two series, one in February and another
in March next year. However, the two series might merge into one. Zimbabwe
will come again in March 2020 to play one Test and five T20I matches.
