‘Showcase Korea 2018’ begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Oct 18, 2018 (BSS) – A two-day exhibition of all Korean products titled ‘Showcase Korea 2018’ is going to be held for the second time in the capital tomorrow, according to a press release here today.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will inaugurate the exhibition at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) at Kuril.

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Hu Kang-il, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Md Shafiul Islam will attend the function as guests of honour.

The Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KBCCI) is organizing the event in collaboration with the ROK embassy here with the support of Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).

The main objective of the exhibition is to strengthen business and investment relations between Bangladesh and the Republic of Korea, said KBCCI Secretary Ruknud-Deen Ahmed.

Korean companies and Bangladeshi importers and distributors of Korean products are participating in the fair with stalls and pavilions.

Main Korean products to be exhibited are electrical and electronic goods, automobiles, textile machinery and accessories, machinery and equipment, cosmetics, and chemicals, paper, fork-lift, elevator, generator, food and beverage.

Electronic and products of latest technology will be displayed in the show by LG Bangladesh and Samsung Electronics.

KIA Motors, Hyundai Motors and Ssangyoung will display cars of latest model, said KBCCI official. “Some Korean companies having no office or agents in Bangladesh are coming to participate in the show directly from Korean with their world famous products,” he added.

Besides, the KBCCI has a plan to organize ‘Showcase Bangladesh’, a fair of Bangladeshi products, in Korean capital Seoul next year with a view to popularizing Bangladeshi products in Korea and increasing export to that country.

The exhibition will remain open for the public after the inaugural ceremony at 10am up to 7pm on Friday and from 10am to 7pm on Saturday.
