Cargo vessel crew burnt to death in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 17, 2018 (BSS) – A cargo vessel crew was burnt to death
while two others received burn injuries as a fire broke out at an anchored
vessel at city’s Bijoynagar Ghat in Karnaphuli river yesterday night.
The deceased identified as Saiful Islam, 34, was a resident of
Fatikchhari upazila of the district. Alauddin Talukdar, sub-inspector of
Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost, said the cargo vessel ‘MV
APS-1’ caught fire around 11:20 pm, leaving three crew members of the ship
injured.
Locals took them to CMCH Hospital where Saiful succumbed to his injuries around 12:30 am.
The two other injured Nahid, 21, and Mizanur Rahman, 25, were admitted
to the burn unit of the hospital.
