FARIDPUR, Oct 16, 2018(BSS) – Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of
Hindu community, is being celebrated with much enthusiasm and festivity in
the district as elsewhere across the country.

Hundreds of devotees and visitors from different localities have seen
thronged Puja mandaps to seek blessings for their welfare.

Almost all the mandaps in the district are buzzing with festivity and
entertainment as drum (Dhol) beating, blowing bamboo flutes, tuning Mondira
and playing of music are being made after adorning the gate with colorful
papers and balloons.

Besides sweetened candy, Nadu, Muri, Khoi have been served to visitors in
different puja mandaps on the occasion. Vendors sitting beside mandaps are
seen busy selling bangles, ribbons, dolls and different attractive food
items.

Among all the mandaps in the district, “Dhopa Danga Chandpur”, has drawn a
huge number of visitors this year.

The law enforcement agencies were seen taking adequate measures for
ensuring the peaceful celebration of the festivity.

The celebrations will come to an end through immersion of the idols erected
in 750 Durga Puja mandaps in nine upazilas of the district after ‘Moha
