ARREST-SATKHIRA
51 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Oct 16, 2018 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 51
persons including five activists of Jamaat-E-Islami from eight upazilas of
the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 14 persons including
four activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, Kalaroa Thana police arrested five
persons, Tala Thana police arrested six persons, Kaliganj Thana police
arrested four persons, Shyamnagar Thana police arrested 11 persons, Assasuni
Thana police arrested six persons including an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami,
Patkelghata Thana police arrested two persons and Debhata police arrested
three persons.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
