Khulna Div. score 272/7 on day 1 in NCL
DHAKA, Oct 15, 2018 (BSS)- Host Khulna Division suffered batting jolt in their first innings as they scored 272 for 7 at stumps against Rangpur Division on the first day of tier-1 third round four-day National Cricket League held on Monday at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
Asked to bat first by Rangpur, Khulna Division lost their opener Robiul Islam (12) early but Soumya Sarkar (76) and Anamul Haque (56) added 111 runs for the second wicket stand to take the team to a comfortable position.
Mehedi Hasan (37), Afif Hossain (15) got a good start but could not convert those into a big knocks in the face of tight bowling display by Rangpur bowlers.
Ziaur Rahman with 33 and Abdur Razzak with 0 on the crease as the stumps were drawn for the day. Sajedul Islam was the pick of Rangpur bowler as he grabbed four Khulna’s wickets giving away 57 runs.
