48 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Oct 15, 2018 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 48
persons from eight upazilas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am
this morning.
Police also recovered 138 bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 11 persons and recovered
31 bottles of Phensidyl in an abandoned condition, Kalaroa Thana police
arrested eight persons, Tala Thana police arrested three persons, Kaliganj
Thana police arrested six persons, Shyamnagar Thana police arrested seven
persons, Assasuni Thana police arrested six persons, Patkelghata Thana police
arrested three persons and Debhata police arrested four persons and recovered
107 bottles of Phensidyl in an abandoned condition.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
