RAJSHAHI, Dec 18, 2017 (BSS)- Marking the country’s 46th anniversary of victory in the Liberation War more than 450 freedom fighters of Rajshahi were honoured through a reception here yesterday.
Of them, five are holders of gallantry award Bir Protik.
Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) organised the reception ceremony at its office premises.
RCC Mayor Musaddeque Hossain Bulbul, who was present at the programme as chief guest, distributed crests and gifts among the freedom fighters.
Some valiant Freedom Fighters Advocate Abdul Hadi, Durul Huda, Rezaun Nabi Dudu, Saidur Rahman, Nazrul Islam and Matiur Rahman also spoke on the occasion. RCC Chief Executive Officer Shah Mumin chaired the function.
Mayor Bulbul said the nation should pay due honour to the freedom fighters (great sons of the soil) to uphold spirit of the War of Liberation.
Bulbul called upon all concerned for upholding the true spirit of the War of Liberation through building an exploitation-free society.
