Landslide kills 4 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 14, 2018 (BSS) – At least four people including three women
of a family were killed in two separate incidents of landslides in the port
city early Sunday following continuous rainfall due to the influence of
Cyclone Titli.

Police and fire service sources said three members of a family died when a
big chunk of earth from adjacent hill fell on their home at Akbar Shah area’s
Firoz Shah Colony at 2 am today.

Another person named Nurunnabi Nantu, 45, was killed as a heavy chunk of a
hill collapsed on his house in Panchlaish’s Rahman Nagar area around 1am on
Sunday.

Jashim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defense
in Chattogram Division, said the deceased in the Akbar Shah colony were
identified as Julekha Begum, 60, her daughter Nurjahan, 45, and grandchild
Nurbanu, 4,

“The incident occurred after a portion of the hill collapsed on their house
and buried them”, he said
