DHAKA, Oct 14, 2018 (BSS) – The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) today ordered to dispose of a rule issued earlier by the High Court on illegal structures in capital’s Hatirjheel-Begunbari project.
An Appellate Division bench headed by Justice Muhammad Imman Ali passed the order, asking the High Court to dispose of the rule within two months.
The High Court on September 10 issued the rule asking the authorities concerned to reply as to why the court shall not pass order to stop construction of illegal infrastructures and safeguard Hatirjheel-Begunbari project as per the project layout.
“An Appellate Division Chamber Judge court earlier had issued a status quo on demolishing infrastructures those were not part of Hatirjheel-Begunbari project layout. The Appellate Division today ordered the High Court to dispose of its rule, upholding that status quo,” advocate Khurshid Alam Khan, who moved a leave to appeal plea on this regard, told newsmen.
Advocate Khan further added 12 persons, who are running business in the area taking spaces at rent from RAJUK, had filed the leave to appeal plea.
“They had filed the leave to appeal plea along with the allotment papers and rent slips,” he added.
