Maritime ports asked to lower signal

DHAKA, Oct 14, 2018 (BSS)-The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,
Mongla and Payra have been asked to lower signal as a squally weather is
unlikely over the maritime ports, north Bay and adjoining coastal areas, a
Met bulletin said today.

However, the met office asked all fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay
to proceed with caution till this evening.

Meanwhile, a Met office warning message said, rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary south or south-westerly gusty or squally wind speed
60-80 kph is likely to occur in Faridpur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali,
Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar districts. River ports are
advised to hoist cautionary signal number one.

Earlier on Saturday, these maritime ports were advised to keep hoisting
local cautionary signal number three as the weaken land depression now lies
over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining southwestern part of Bangladesh.
