Child killed in Myanmar’s Yangon downtown fire

YANGON, Oct. 14, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – A seven-year-old child has been killed
in a fire that broke out in Myanmar’s Yangon, the local 7-Day News reported
Sunday.

The child, who was a kindergarten student, died of suffocation in the fire
that occurred at the top floor of a four-storey residential building located
on 19th Street, Latha township Saturday afternoon at 2:20 p.m. local time.

The fire was due to overheat of a main electric switch board, the report
said, adding that the over half hour’s fire was put out by 120 firefighters.
