Former Navy chief Real Admiral M H Khan passes away
DHAKA, Oct 13, 2018 (BSS) – Former Navy chief Real Admiral Musharraf
Hussain Khan died of old age complications at Combined Military Hospital
(CMH) today.
He was 87, said an ISPR press release.
Musharraf Hussain Khan served as the chief of the Bangladesh Navy (BN)
from November 7, 1973 to November 3, 1979, it added.
He left behind a son, wife, host of relatives and well wishers to mourn
his death.
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on January 10,
1974, commissioned Bangladesh navy’s largest training base BNS Issa Khan and
handed over naval ensign to BN during Real Admiral Musharraf Hussain Khan’s
tenure.
The namaz-e-janaza of the deceased would be held after Zohr prayers on
Monday at BNS Haji Mohsin in Dhaka Cantonment. He would be buried at
ancestral graveyard in capital’s Bangla Motor area on the same day.
