International disaster reduce day observed in Panchagarh
PANCHAGARH Oct 13, 2018 (BSS) – International Day for Disaster Risk
Reduction was observed in Debiganj town today as elsewhere in the country and
the globe.
The theme of the day was “Reducing Economics Losses” this year.
Marking the day, a rally was brought out from upazila parishad premises
which ended there after parading the important streets of the town. A
discussion meeting was held at upazila parishad hallroom.
Upazila project implemention office (PIO) under the Ministry of Disaster
Management and Relief arranged the programme.
Upazila chairman of Debiganj Md. Hasnat Zaman Chowdary Jarje addressed
the meeting as the chief guest.
PIO Rokunuzzaman , upazila freedom fighter commander Sodesh Chandra
spoke at the function, among others. Upazila Nirbahi officer (UNO) of
Debiganj Atik S.B. Sattar presided over the function.
Government officials, different school teachers, students took part in
the rally and discussion.
