RAJSHAHI, Oct 13, 2018 (BSS)-‘Bangabandhu Corner’ was formally launched at
all educational institutions simultaneously in the district today for giving
an in depth idea about the life, works and sacrifice of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the new generation.
The corner is enriched with Bangabandhu’s portrait, historic speech of 7th
March, photograph of all life and more than 200 books on life and works of
Bangabandhu.
At their own initiatives, authorities of the 1980 institutions including
1055 primary schools opened the corner.
To mark the occasion, the district administration organized a launching
ceremony at Government Girls High School in the city today.
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and additional
commissioner of Rajshahi division Aminul Islam attended the function as chief
and special guests respectively with Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader in
the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Nazrul Islam, deputy
director of Department of Secondary and Higher Education Towhid Ara, District
Education Officer Laily Banu and headmaster of the school Begum Isha Bela
were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Liton urged the students to know the life
and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to get
nation-building inspiration in life.
He said the new generation must follow the ideals of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They should also hear the speeches of
Bangabandhu minutely.
“Apart from a few anti-liberation thugs, the whole nation under the
leadership of Bangabandhu fought and brought independence of the country and
that’s why the Bangalee nation embraced him as their closest one,
affectionately decorating him with the honor of Bangabandhu,” he said.
Recalling the greatest contribution of Bangabandhu to the independence of
Bangladesh, they mentioned the fugitive convicted killers of Bangabandhu and
his family members will not go unpunished.
All the fugitive convicts will be brought back to the country and
according executed on this soil so that none can dare to commit such types of
heinous crimes.
