8 children killed as wall collapsed in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Oct 11, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – At least eight children were killed
and four others injured on Thursday as a wall of a house collapsed in
Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, local media reported.

According to the reports, the children were playing near the wall when it
fell over them in a village of Sukkur, a district of Sindh province.

Local people started rescue work by themselves as the area does not have
official or private rescue service.

All the affected children were shifted to a hospital where eight of them
were declared dead, including six boys and two girls, all of them aged below
12.

Locals said that the weary wall collapsed after some of the children tried
to climb it.

Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and
advised the authorities concerned to provide the best available treatment
facilities to the injured.
