Chumki for proper nursing of girl children
DHAKA, Oct 10, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroze Chumki today said it is impossible to build a developed country showing negligence to the girls as children are the biggest resources for the country.
“Children are the biggest resources of the country. About two crore of the total population are children in Bangladesh while most of them are girls. So, it is impossible to transform the country into a developed one showing negligence to the girl children,” she said at a prize giving ceremony at Women Affairs Department auditorium in the city.
Women Affairs Department organized the function marking the National Girl Child Day- 2018.
The state minister said the fate of Bangladesh depends on the appropriate nursing of the children.
Women Affairs Department Director General Kazi Rowshon Akter presided over the function. Women and Children Affairs Secretary Nasima Begum, Additional Secretary Mahmuda Sharmin Benu and Women Affairs Department Director Md Ataur Rahman also spoke on the occasion, among others.
The state minister distributed prizes among the winners of an essay writing completion marking the National Girl Child Day.
