Hurricane Michael strengthens to Category 2: US forecasters
MIAMI, Oct 9, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – Hurricane Michael strengthened Tuesday to a
Category 2 storm, packing 100-mile-an-hour winds as it churned toward the
northern Gulf coast of Florida, US weather forecasters said.
Michael is projected to be a major Category 3 storm by the time it makes
landfall Wednesday, bringing with it “life threatening” storm surges and
heavy rainfall, the National Hurricane Center said.
