BNP will cease to exist if it boycotts next polls: Tofail
MYMENSINGH, Oct 06, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League Advisory Council Member and Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed today said BNP will cease to exist as a political party, if it does not take part in the forthcoming general elections.
“BNP-led alliance failed to foil the last general election, though it tried its level best to thwart it. If they try to do the same again, their attempts will go in vain,” he said.
Tofail was addressing the inaugural function of Audio Visual Center of Envoy Textiles Limited at Bhaluka here, said an official release.
Tenure of the present government will end on January 28, 2019, the minister said, adding that the next election will be held within 90 days prior to the end of the tenure.
The election will be held as per the Constitution and it will be free, fair and inclusive, he said.
Envoy Group Chairman Kutub Uddin Ahmed presided over the function addressed, among others, by Dutch Bangla Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Abul Kashem Md Shirin and Envoy Group Director Tanvir Ahmed.
