ACC finds forgery evidence in taking Tk 4 crore from Farmers Bank

DHAKA, Oct 4, 2018 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has found evidence of a forgery in taking Taka 4 crore from the Farmers Bank, ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmood said without naming anyone.

He said this while talking to newsmen at his office at the ACC here today.

The ACC Chairman said ACC’s investigation into the forgery is now at the final stage.

On October 1, the ACC formed a two-member team to conduct an inquiry into the allegations of siphoning off money and amassing illegal wealth by Ananta Kumar Sinha.

ACC spokesmen Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told BSS that the national anti-graft agency formed the team to conduct the inquiry into the allegations.

Earlier, the Commission received allegations that Ananta Kumar Sinha siphoned off money abroad and brought a house at a cost of US$ 2.8 lakh in the state of New Jersey, the USA, and accumulated wealth through illegal means.

Ananta Kumar Sinha is the younger brother of former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, who is now living in the USA.
