Defeated forces of 1971 assassinate Bangabandhu: Quamrul

DHAKA, Dec 12, 2017 (BSS) – Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam said today the defeated forces of the Liberation War of 1971 assassinated Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members to take revenge of their defeat.

“We should united forgetting all differences among us as the defeated forces of 1971 has long been hatching conspiracy to destabilize the country and foil the upcoming general elections,” he told a memorial meeting at Jatiya Press Club here marking the death anniversary of Major Ziauddin Ahmed, sub-sector commander of sector no 9.

“The next general election will be held in a free, fair and neutral manner under the present government in line with the constitution and we will help the Election Commission to this end,” he said.

Recalling the memory of Major Ziauddin, he also sad, “Major Ziauddin dedicated his life for the welfare of the freedom fighters. The people of the country will recall his contribution to the Liberation War.”

Captain Shachin Karmoker presided over the meeting while Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Hoque and Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad ASM Feroz, and freedom fighter Munirul Huq, spoke on the occasion.
