Maritime ports advised to lower signal

DHAKA, Dec 11, 2017 (BSS) – Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to lower signal as the well marked low over North Bay and adjoining coastal area weakened into a low, according to the weather bulletin of the met office issued here today.

Squally weather is unlikely over the North Bay, coastal regions and the maritime ports areas of the country, the bulletin said.

However, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places over Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions by 9 am tomorrow, said a met office press release.

The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country during the period, the release added.

Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Maximum temperature was recorded 30.8 degree celsius yesterday at Teknaf in Chittagong division and today’s minimum temperature 12.80 degree celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 110 mm at Comilla in Chittagong division.

The sun sets at 5:12 pm today and rises at 6:32 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
