Narail emerge champions in Inter-divisional Women’s Handball
DHAKA, Sept 18, 2018 (BSS)- Narail district emerged champions in the Inter-
divisional Women’s Handball competition beating Kishoreganj district by 20-18
goals in the final held on Tuesday at Dhanmondi Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports
Complex in the city.
Besides, Noagaon district finished third position in the meet defeating
Faridpur district by 14-6 goals in the place-deciding encounter held at the
same venue.
Ritu Khanam of Narail district was named the best player of the
competition.
Bangladesh Awami League Youth and Sports Affairs Secretary Harunur Rashid
was present as the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.
Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association’s (BWSA) president Mahbub Ara Gini
presided over the closing ceremony.
BWSA General Secretary Hamida Begum, Handball sub-committee’s Convener
Quamrunessa Ashraf Dina and Member Secretary Shamim Ariz Saj were present,
among others, on the occasion.
A total of 164 players from 14 champions and runners-up district teams of
eight divisions across the country took part in the three-day meet, organised
by BWSA.
