JS passes Textile Bill, 2018
SANGSAD BHABAN, Sept 12, 2018 (BSS) – The Jatiya Sangsad today
passed the Textile Bill, 2018 in an amended form keeping with a provision of
private sector investment in the sector.
State Minister for Textile and Jute Mirza Azam moved the bill with Deputy
Speaker M Fazley Rabbi Mia presiding over the House proceedings. Later the
House passed the bill with voice votes.
According to the object of the proposed bill, it was made reorganizing and
making the sector modern and time-befitting.
With introducing the bill, the textile and jute minister said the proposed act
would be included ‘one stop service’ along with amending other necessary
affairs as the entrepreneurs and investors will get all the services including the
required infrastructural facilities.
Earlier, the proposed bill was sent to the parliamentary standing committee on
June 6 in 2018 for providing report after further scrutiny.
