RMP sets up eight new police stations

RAJSHAHI, Nov 22, 2017 (BSS)- Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has decided to set up eight new police stations in the metropolitan area in order to infuse dynamism in its activities.

The number of total police stations will now stand at 12.

The police stations are: Shahmukhdum, Airport, Matiher, Katakhali, Belpukur, Rajpara, Kasiadanga, Boalia Model, Chandrima, Paba, Karnahar and Damkura.

The proposal for setting up eight new police stations has also been approved by the National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reforms (NICAR) on Monday.

“We have already got manpower for the new stations,” said Mahabubor Rahman, Commissioner of RMP, on Tuesday.

Mahabubor Rahman said RMP began its journey with four police stations-Shahmukhdum, Matiher, Rajpara and Boalia- in 1992.

RMP’S vision is to provide quality service by competent, efficient and dedicated professionals enjoying trust and respect of citizens to make Rajshahi City better and safer place to live, the RMP chief added.
