Bangladesh will be a middle-income country by 2021: Mosharraf

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2018 (BSS)- Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today said the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to turn Bangladesh into a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed nation by 2041.

“Bangladesh is moving forward by holding hands of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina… she (Sheikh Hasina) devoted herself to accomplish her father’s unfinished works,” he said while speaking at a discussion at the main auditorium of National Museum here.

Bangladesh Insurance Association organized the discussion marking the National Mourning Day and 43rd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said an official release.

Former Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Professor Dr Pran Gopal Dutta presented a keynote paper on Bangabandhu in the programme.

Railways Minister Md Mujibul Haque, former Chief Whip Abdus Shahid, MP, and Chairman of Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority Md Shafiqur Rahman Patwari also spoke at the discussion with association President Sheikh Kabir Hossain in the chair.

Mosharraf said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the only one statesman who is taking the country ahead. “We could reach our desire goal to make a hunger and poverty-free country by 2021,” he added.
