Bangladesh, Sri Lanka eying to win friendly football match

RANGPUR, Aug 28, 2018 (BSS) – Both the Bangladesh and Sri Lankan National Football Teams are eying to win the FIFA International Friendly Football match to be held tomorrow at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari district town.

The Coaches, Managers and Captains of the two national teams at a pre-match press conference held at Hotel North View in Rangpur city today put importance on the march before the upcoming South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship.

They termed their counterpart teams as stronger and balanced ones and expressed their keen desire to win the football match with their best efforts.

Coach of the Sri Lankan National Football Team Nizam Pakkar Ali said, “Bangladesh seems to be my second birthplace where I played many football games at many places of the country.”

As the Sri Lanka’s Coach, he expressed desire to gift the best game against the stronger opposition team of Bangladesh and to play for victory.

Sri Lankan Captain Subhash Madhu Sen said, “We will play this friendly match outside the capital city of Dhaka for the first time. That’s why an additional feeling is working among all players of my team.”

“Our team has been made with the new as well as experienced players and they will definitely play a good game as a balanced team to win the match,” he hoped.

Manager of Bangladesh Team Satyajit Das Rupu said, “We have formed the team targeting the upcoming SAFF Games keeping in view the recently played three games in Korea, one in Qatar and four matches in the Asian Games.”

“We are keeping seven players of our main national team out of the tomorrow’s friendly football match keeping in mind their necessity of rest due to injuries so that no problems could arise during the SAFF Games soon,” he said.

“We have trained our players for the past two months who will play tomorrow in the FIFA International Friendly Football match at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari,” he said, adding that they would give their best.

Rupu said, “This is the last match before the upcoming SAFF Games. A lot of spectators will enjoy the match. To bring smile on their faces, our players will play with 100 percent importance to win the match with the goal of winning the SAFF Championship too”

Captain of Bangladesh National football Team Sakhawat Rony said, “We have been getting training for the last two months. We want to play our best football march before the SAFF Games.”

Expressing his confidence to win the tomorrow’s friendly football match againt Sril Lanka, Bangladesh Team Coach Jamie Deyo said, “We have prepared our team players aiming at winning the SAFF Championship.

“We are giving great importance on the Wednesday’s friendly football match. Bangladesh team wants to gift a good game,” he added.

Before the tomorrow’s match, Bangladesh team practiced at Rangpur Stadium while Sri Lanka Team practiced at Nilphamari Sheikh Kamal Stadium in the afternoon.
