100pc wastes removed in DNCC

DHAKA, Aug 23, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Panel
Mayor Jamal Mostafa today said 100 percent wastes of sacrificial animals on
the holy Eid-ul-Azha were removed within 24 hours in the city corporation
area as per the prior announcement.

“We have successfully removed the wastes of sacrificial animals within
24 hours with the cooperation of city dwellers,” he told a press conference
at DNCC Nagar Bhaban this afternoon.

He said this year the city dwellers have made much enthusiastic response
in slaughtering their sacrificial animals in the DNCC designated spots than
the previous years.

He said around 8,500 tonnes of wastes have been removed from the DNCC
areas as around 9,500 cleaners have worked to keep the city clean within 24
hours.

DNCC Chief Executive Officer Md Mesbahul Islam, Ward Councilors Afsar
Uddin, Tarequzzaman Rajib, Dr Jinnat Ali, Dewan Abdul Mannan and Jakir
Hossain Babul were present on the occasion.

Earlier, both DNCC and DSCC started removing of animal waste at 2pm on
Wednesday as per prior announcement.

At a press conference at Nagar Bhaban, DSCC mayor Sayeed Khokon said the
city corporation removed 90 percent wastes of sacrificial animals within the
24 hours.
