DHAKA, Nov 13, 2017 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today asked physicians to attach priority to different research activities alongwith providing advanced treatment of the patients.
“The medical sector is being modernised rapidly . . . And the physicians have many social responsibilities at present,” he told a delegation of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) that called on him at Bangabhaban here.
Noting that the BSMMU is a specialized institution of the country, President Hamid stressed the need for physicians’ sufficient knowledge about the latest medical technologies.
The President urged the university authorities to undertake awareness campaign about different diseases and treatment facilities.
BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan led the eight-member delegation while secretaries concerned to the president were present, said a release of the President palace this evening.
Abdul Hamid was appraised of overall activities of the university and treatment facilities.
The VC also invited the President to be present at the upcoming third BSMMU convocation .
